It was always bound to be a classy night thanks to the calibre of stars on the guest list.
But one person in particular stole the show as they entered the 2012 Classical Brit Awards on Tuesday night.
And
that person was, of course, Myleene Klass, who has previously ensured
she's been the belle of the ball at the annual glitzy bash.
That's certainly an entrance! Myleene Klass
shows off her glamorous style as she shows the rest of the stars up at
the Classical Brit Awards on Tuesday night
Stunner: The former pop star stood out in the
silver and black Rafael Lopez gown as she posed on the red carpet before
heading inside
This year she opted for a flowing floorlength Rafael Lopez gown in silver and black with a strapless sweetheart neckline.
And
she was clearly ecstatic with her look as she lifted the train off the
floor and posed for the cameras with the material extended.
Although it could have been that she just wanted the snappers to notice her stand-out quirky shoes.
Happy girl! Myleene was clearly enjoying her ensemble as she pulled it out to the sides to show it off in all its glory
Style queen: Klass looked gleaming as she showed off her slender frame with the strapless sweetheart neckline
Glamour girl: Myleene showed off some leg, as well as her spiky heels, as she headed inside for the festivities
Myleene completed her dainty look with some high heels with spiky detailing on the front to give it a more jagged edge.
But nevertheless she still looked demure and glamorous in the outstanding ensemble.
It was only the day before on Monday that she was spotted wearing a smart red and black ensemble to a divorce meeting in London.
Belle: Myleene's frock certainly came up trumps for her as she made the most of her glory moment
Radiant: Sophie Evans also stunned in her own floorlength frock with sheer detailing and her red locks tumbling down
Ladies' night: New Zealand soprano Hayley
Westenra also showed off her stylish garbs as she came in her own
stand-out frock to the event
Flashing the flesh: Hayley showed off
her cleavage, while accentuating her eyes with the olive colour of the
frock
But she wasn't the only star to work the red carpet.
In fact, Hayley Westenra gave her a run for her money in her own stunning gown.
The New Zealand soprano showed off her cleavage in a dark olive green frock with a belt cinching in her slender waist.
Dressing to impress: Nicola Benedetti and
Laura Wright also vamped up their looks with floorlength gowns, while
Cerys Matthews opted for bright trousers and a shirt
In the spotlight: Britain's Got Talent
favourites Jonathan and Charlotte worked the red carpet with big grins
on their faces at the high profile event
Matching glitz: Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen wore a stand out jacket alongside wife Jackie in floor skimming gold sequins
She's back: Connie Fisher showed off her low slung dress with silver detailing as she mingled with the rest of the stars
Monochrome: Andrea Bocelli and wife Enrica wore matching black and white to attend the Royal Albert Hall bash in London
She completed her look with a small clutch and her hair half up in curls.
It
was also a stand out night for Sophie Evans, who wore her raven red
hair down with a black sheer gown over beige lining as she also turned
up for the ceremony at London's lavish Royal Albert Hall.
In the mix: Four-piece classical band Amore ensured they were part of the line-up for the lavish evening
Dapper: Sir Antony Hopkins was among the suited
and booted gentlemen at the bash, alongside former X Factor stars
Rhydian Roberts and Joe McElderry
Radiant: Sophie Evans was one of the stand out females of the evening thanks to her stunning dress and vibrant locks
Shimmering: Radio and TV presenter Margherita Taylor dazzled in her ensemble with her cute up 'do
Nicola Benedetti also dressed to impress with her strapless maroon frock and flowing long hair.
But
the boys also came up trumps, with former X Factor star Rhydian Roberts
leading the dapper pack, alongside other suited and booted stars Joe
McElderry, Benjamin Grosvenor and Ramin Karimloo.
After
piling into the lavish venue the stars of the classical music world
were told who had won the coveted trophies as Myleene hosted the event
wearing another dress, this time a peach David Fielden gown.
Clothes change! Myleene Klass later changed into a brightly coloured gown with her hair up to act as presenter for the evening
They have already taken the pop world by storm.
But
it was another positive evening for the Military Wives Choir as the
singers proved they can also triumph in the world of classical music.
The
800-member female group - led by Gareth Malone, 37 – scooped Single Of
The Year for hit song Wherever You Are at the Classical Brit Awards.
Delighted: She looked ecstatic to be leading the night as she was joined by Olympic medallist Victoria Pendleton on stage
Welcoming: She congratulated each act, giving
Gareth Malone a kiss as he came to collect his Single of the Year win
with the Military Wives
After accepting their award
from Olympic cycling gold-medallist Victoria Pendleton, 60 members of
the choir performed Gary Barlow’s Diamond Jubilee composition Sing
alongside the 41-year-old Take That star and composer Lord Lloyd-Webber.
Other
surprise winners on the night included Oscar-winning actor Sir Anthony
Hopkins, who arrived with his much younger wife Stella Arroyave, 55.
Although
the 74-year-old Silence Of The Lambs star was not given a prize
directly, a waltz he composed for his friend André Rieu – a Dutch
violinist and composer - was included on the musician’ album And The
Waltz Goes On, named Album of the Year.
Celebrations! Gareth later posed with the Military Wives choir as they marked their victory with the trophy
Fancy seeing you here! Take That's Gary Barlow
took to the stage with Andrew Lloyd Webber as the choir performed for
the excited crowd
Cheers! Nicola Benedetti looked ecstatic with her best female artist win on the night
The Military Wives are the first group ever to be nominated in both the Brit Awards and the Classical Brit Awards.
Yesterday was also the first time a Classical Brit prize has been awarded for Single Of The Year.
Wherever
You Are was nominated for best single at the pop awards in February,
but lost to One Direction’s What Makes You Beautiful.
The track reached number one in the Christmas charts and sales have raised more than £500,000 for charity.
Packed evening: Victoria Pendleton appeared on
stage to announce one of the winners, while American singer Sierra
Boggess was one of the star acts singing her heart out
Little and large: Janet Street Porter also came to present an award as
she posed with Critics' award winner Benjamin Grosvenor backstage
Speaking before the awards yesterday,
Mr Malone said it was ‘particularly gratifying’ to be recognised at a
classical music ceremony as well as in pop circles.
He
said: ‘I’ve never been particularly into genres. I like good music. All
the musicians I work with have an appreciation of a huge range of
music.
‘The secret to the choir’s success is the women. They have incredible lives and incredible stoicism.’
Music to their ears: Guests were treated to a performance by Andre Rieu, who later picked up album of the year
Other winners at the Classical
Brit Awards included film composer John Williams, who was given a
Lifetime Achievement award, as well as the award for Best Composer for
writing the scores to recent blockbusters War Horse and The Adventures
of Tintin.
Italian
tenor Andrea Bocelli – who has sold more that 75million albums in a 20
year career – was presented with an award for International Artist of
the Year by musical composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Twenty-year-old
pianist Benjamin Grosvenor, from Southend-On-Sea in Essex, became the
youngest male winner of a Classical Brit, beating British composer Sir
Simon Rattle to the Critics Award for his interpretations of Chopin,
Liszt and Ravel.
